Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 1, Part 2, Page 133
Photograph a [top]: Please see notes for captioning and other information. This photograph shows an exterior view of St. Michael's Episcopal Church located at 222-244 East High Street.
High Street is visible in the foreground of the photograph. The church building (in the center of the photograph) is constructed of stone and has a tower with a stone base and a steeple. Below the steeple is incorporated a section for a bell tower. Two stone "extensions" protrude from the side of the building. A fence surrounds the church property. A separate stone building (with a large stained glass window) is situated to the right of the main church building. Beside the church (on High Street) is a stone house which is likely to be the parsonage.
Photograph b [bottom]: This photograph shows a view of St. Michael's Episcopal Church (222-244 East High Street) with damage caused by a storm in 1911. The wooden steeple and bell tower are seen lying on the lawn by the side of the building. Some roof damage (to the main church building) can be seen in the photograph. Beyond the main church building, another stone building is partially visible and does not appear to have sustained storm damage.
