Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 1, Part 2, Page 134
Photograph a [top]: Please see notes for captioning and other information. This photograph shows an interior view of St. Michael's Episcopal Church located at 222-244 East High Street.
In the foreground of the photograph is a baptismal font. Two rows of wooden pews are situated on either side of the main aisle. Arched windows line both side walls with sconces affixed to the walls between the windows. A large arch separates the main body of the church from the apse. Three arched windows sit in the back apse wall above the altar. The ceiling is constructed in "semi-arch'" square section construction (most likely of wood). The upper edges of the walls appear to be painted/stencilled. Liturgical furniture/accessories are seen in the sanctuary.
Photograph b [bottom]: This photograph shows an exterior view of St. Michael's Episcopal Church (222-244 East High Street). The photograph was taken from the rear of the church property. Between the two buildings in the background can be viewed houses on the opposite side of High Street. In the center of the photograph (behind the ground vegetation) are visible the two gravestones of Christian and Jonathan Warner. Small stone buttresses can be seen supporting the sides of the church building. The back wall (in the left foreground) can be seen covered with ivy.
