Please see Notes for a description of captioning. This photograph shows a view of the structure at 5430 Germantown Avenue, known as the Ashmead House. The house is located in the center of the photograph and is a two story stone structure with a unique three window arched pediment dormer buiilt into the roof line. A formal wooden arched pediment formal surround encloses the front entrance. Only one side window has shutters. To the left of this building are commercial properties, most prominent being Jacob Brothers Chevrolet Car Dealership (indicatied by a prominent sign affixed to the front of the building). Many cars are seen in the photograph parked along Germanotwn Avenue. A driveway is seen along the side of the Ashmead House separating it from the next adjacent building.
