Description

Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 1, Part 2, Page 85 Please see Notes for a description of captioning. This photograph shows a view of the structure at 5275-5277 Germantown Avenue, formerly occupied by the Bank of Germantown. The photograph shows a two story stucco-covered building with two arched peak dormer windows built into the roof line. The front entrance to 5277 Germantown Avenue is located in the center of the first floor and has a partial arched pediment surround above the front entrance. A sign is affixed from the arched pediment and extends out visible to anyone walking along Germantown Avenue. To the left of this entrance above the left window (which is partially covered by an awning)are letters painted/stenciled over the window indicating 'Antiques'. The steps to this entrance are built parallel to Germantown Avenue. To the right is an awning over the window and entrance ot 5275 Germantown Avenue. A bulkhead is located to the left of the front steps. To the left of this structure is another building with awnings covering what is probably another storefront. To the right is a space fronted by a wooden fence separating this building from another property which also appears to be a storefront (possibly a produce store by what appear to be baskets of fruits/vegetables visible). An awning also covers the front of this establishment.
