Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 1, Part 2, Page 77
Photograph a [top]: The photograph shows (to the right) the Wister House - a two story stucco covered structure with two arched dormer windows built into the metal-seamed roof. An overhang extends the width of the first floor front creating a porch supported by wooden columns. The windows are shuttered - first floor windows have paneled shutters, while second story windows have louvered shutters. The house is "set-back" from Germantown Avenue seen in the foreground as stone-paved with trolley tracks enbedded in the paving. A hair-pin metal fence is seen extending across the front of the property, anchored at the left by a stone column supporting a metal gate. Beyond the gate is a path leading onto the property. To the left of the house is a stone and stucco covered two story structure with wooden steps visible at the rear. This structure would appear to be older than the Wister House. Mature trees are visible throughout the property.
Photograph b [left, bottom]: This ptotograph shows a view of the older building beside the Wister House, seen from the oppostie side . The hair-pin fence is visible in the foreground as is a path. The side of the building facing Germantown Avenue is stucco-covered, while the side facing the path is stone. One window is visible on the first floor side, while two windows are visible on the second story side. Two windows are visible at the top of the building on the Germantown Avenue side. Large, mature trees shade most of the building from full view.
Photograph c [bottom, right]: This photograph shows a thrid view of the old building beside the Wister House. The photograph shows the side of this structure closest to the Wister House, with one window on the first floor with shutters closed, two windows on the second story and what would appear to be a rounded wooden door at ground level (see photograph 77a). A path is clearly seen beside this structure as seen in photograph 77a. Mature trees surround this building.Photograph Details
