Shawl. Woman's shawl; very fine red wool; plain weave; woven decorative tape 1 3/8-inch-wide in red, blue, green, and black on white ground with stylized flowers and leaves. Tape goes all around the shawl 2 1/4-inches from the edge on the short sides and 1/8-inch from the edge on long sides. Fringe varies in length from non-existant to 2 1/2-inches only on the short side. Made in India. Fair to Poor condition. Many small holes; some as large as 1-inch; tattered self-fringe. A number of L-shaped tears - mended roughly. Circa early 19th century.
