Description

Two nearly identical square photographic prints with rounded tops mounted to an ivory card; prints depict a cobbled street leading, on the viewer's left, past a low stone wall with statues on it toward a large building with round and pointed arched windows, a tower and a clock. Buildings line the street on the viewer's right and a horse and cart are stopped in the street. Two paper labels are on the reverse: "407. Abside of the Dome. Palermo. Sicily.". A larger label is a text advertisement for the maker: "WAY & SONS' / STEREOSCOPIC VIEWS / OF / DEVONSHIRE SCENERY," followed by a listing of all the scenes available and followed by their address: "Stereoscopic Depot & Artists' Repository / 13, VICTORIA PARADE, / TORQUAY."
