Condition

Notes

Remarks: Canvas conserved for Winter Antiques Show by Felicity Campbell, now in excellent conditon (see Condition Report); frame: slight loss or flaking at bottom edge under molding (not visible at normal hanging level); one small "chunk" missing from inner edge of molding and old repair.

Notes

Remarks: Felicity Campbell examined the canvas for possible inclusion in the 2012 Winter Antiques Show Loan Exhibition: this piece has been overcleaned/abraded in the past, there very little texture to the brushwork and the painting appears "flat" overall; there is a line along the left side that should be touched up, perhaps where the frame has rubbed the canvas, although the canvas is not loose; there are areas where the white gesso layer is showing through and the painting appears thin; it is clean however, and touch-up work can be done over the existing varnish; Marylou Davis examined the frame and will touch up small nicks prior to the exhibition [Jessa J. Krick, 9/8/2011]
