A faux rosewood grained painted side chair with spindle back and cane seat: arched back crest rail unadorned except for swirled and acanthus leaf in relief; upright stiles are turned with disks and bulblike swellings; stiles meet back legs where they bend backward in classical style; back has four spindles meeting the crest rail in a rosebud shape; underside of crest rail arches five times to meet spindles; lower rail mimics crest rail arches in reverse; caned seat is trapazoidal with larger side out; seat rails appear to be oak; front stretcher turned with the same pattern as the back; sides have two stretchers on each side and one stretcher in back; legs are klismos in form as the forward and back; two front legs on top are turned and meet side rails where top of the leg is exposed.
