Shaker #6 style rocker of stained maple(?) with a trapazoidal woven tape seat of black and brown typical of Shaker works. The four-slat back is flanked on either side by two cylindrical stiles capped with pointed, yet rounded finials. The arms are serpentine, taper toward the back and have dome-shaped "mushroom" finials over the front legs. The turnings of the front legs are simple: a baluster turning followed by a cylindrical turning. There are sets of stretchers in the front and sides; one in the back. The rockers have an undulating contour with a curved base that tapers towards the back. On the back of the bottom slat is a Shaker burned seal.Made/Created
