Description

Side chair upholstered in faux leather: arched cresting rail over curved rectangular stiles, molded; two shaped rectangular banisters form back, and are upholstered with brown faux leather, applied with large-headed brass tacks; cross member, into which banisters are set above seat; seat upholstered to modern brown leather, with large-headed brass tacks; cabriole front legs, terminating in simple Spanish feet; H-stretchers, turned, with fourth stretcher at rear; black paint.

Overall Analysis: Wood sections repaired by Cappolino 9/68; est. for repairs $15. Foot repaired 4/11/77. Remarks: Worn along edges at top of cresting rail on front and back and along edges of outer bannister back stiles; leather seat cracked and brittle; 1 1/8" tear in seat; severely worn along center edge of knee of proper right and left legs; proper left front foot has a 3/4"x 3/8" pc. missing at corner; scratches and gouges throughout legs and stretchers; old upholstery nail holes on back side of cresting rail and bannister stiles; crazing throughout finish; severe crazing on rear legs; proper left rear foot has 3/4" x 1/4" gouge on outside back corner; proper left rear foot is worn so much that chair tips back and forth; proper right rear foot has chip at bottom edge of corners on back side; rear seat rail is cracked and has large gouge on side; wood worm damage is evident.
