Notes

Remarks: At some point over the last few years, part of the trim of the pull-out shelf became detached from the piece, this also caused one of the hardware handles to be detached; some of the tracery trim was also loose and separated from the body of the chest; Ted Hemberger of the Restoration Crew made repairs to this piece, including re-gluing the trim, making a new plug for the pull, and attaching the broken trim piece to the shelf along with the pull; this work was completed in February 2013.

Notes

Overall Analysis: Micro-analysis of wood used in the divider between the top drawers, Gordon Saltar, Winterthur Museum, 01/08/1979: Genus Picea-a spruce. "Spruce is VERY rare in American Furniture, but does occasionally show up in Philadelphia mid-century." Benno Forman, concerning VC.63.8, 01/09/1979. Remarks: Details of condition: (1/29/02) bottom molding missing.
