General Notes

Note Type

Curatorial Remarks

Note

Not as old as originally cataloged, owing to partial maker's stamp [Jessa J. Krick, 1/25/2015]. Orginally cataloged as a "hatchel" for flax, one of a pair, but as it lacks the longer sharper spikes more common for processing flax, probably a pair of wool carding combs [Jessa Krick, 2/11/2014].

Note Type

General Note

Note

Cataloged as one of a pair, but differences in construction and maker's stamp indicate this is not truly a pair.
