Curatorial RemarksNote
The four doors are painted to illustrate scenes from the story of Tobias and the Angel found in the Book of Tobit, an aprochryphal text for the Jewish and Protestant faiths, although canonical for the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox church. ADD DETAILS.
The frieze at the top is painted with a colorful hunting scene and the sides are decorated with birds, grapes and vines. According to Cross-Section, "It is certain that this type of painting influences a small group of American-made kasten that survives today."
