Handrawn diagram in ink and blue paint on rectangular paper, of area above the Avenue at Montgomery Place, June 12, 1854; drawing is framed by to black lines and a third, interior, red line; compass arrow with ornamentation appears in upper left section; vertical diagram with four sections to the left appears on right side of page; horizontal straight lines with numbers at ends appear on extreme right; the words "Line," "Grade," "Tile," and "Surface" appear throughout on the diagram; calculations or measurements appear on protruding lines on diagram; extension of diagram on small piece of white paper, pasted to the back of the page in upper right corner, continues diagram with blue painted line, numbers and a small blue circle with a pointing hand and the word "Well" above it; "All south of this stake is reversed so as / to discharge across the Avenue / the remainder remains as it is and dis- / charges near the (illegible word) well (see map" written in pencil at center right side; "Grade 4 in (sic) to 66 feet" written vertically along center right side; two horizontal broken lines near bottom of page with "AVENUE" written in between them; "NB Horizontal scale of the plan southerly of Avenue / is 44 feet to the Inch. / Virtical (sic) Scale on said plan is 12 feet / to the Inch" written in lower left corner; "Horizontal Scale" written in large letters at bottom left corner, just above diagram of scale which is numbered "24 Feet" and the numbers "0" through "6;" smaller diagonal diagram appears at bottom center, above the date "June 12th 1854;" "Virtical (sic) Scale" appears in lower right corner, above diagram of scale measuring "5 Feet" and numbered "0" through "6;" vertical blue ink mark on reverse at bottom center.Made/Created
