Note

Note: According to David Howard, Chinese Export Porcelain scholar, the scene represents a French family shipwrecked in Tahiti. The scene was copied from an illustration in a travel book. The lotus shape of the plate was popular during the 1760s (2/80). Miscellaneous: If baptismal ceremony, curious representation.
