SS.63.401 a-cDescription
Three shell-form dishes, the configuration appears to be that of a scallop shell: the narrow end of the dish is molded in the shape of a mythological mask flanked by a rosette on either side, the surface and underside of which are gilded; the scallop shaped rim of the dish is also gilded; the interior surface of the dish has been colored with a buff glaze, with a white reserve at its center, which is outlined with gilt; the white reserve displays a hand painted floral spray, the predominant colors of which are lavender, purple, rust-red, surrounded by green leafage; the three floral sprays display slight variations.Made/Created
