Dear Sir
I take the Liberty of inclosing to you copies / of the accounts of the property taken from the point / together with two Letters on the subject from Coll / Hay and Mr. Benson _ By this time (I hope) Mr / Rooney will have (I hope) obtained Vouchers for / the fire wood that has since been cut for the [Port?] / at West Point _ You’ll be pleased to take Notice / that in there accounts no mention is made of a / negroe fellow named [Arie] who was enlisted in the / Continental Service taken prisoner and as we are / informed dyed in the Provost.
You are the best judge to determine if it / wou’d be proper to follow Mr Benson’s Advice of / sending a person to Albany, to get these matters / Liquidated; if so I shou’d Imagine it wou’d be / most Advisable, at same time to send the / Vouchers that Mr Rooney shall have procured / so as to have the Whole Affair settled at once.
With respectfull [^ complements] of All here to your good self / Mrs. Cortland, Mr. + Mrs. Beekman. I am / with Esteem. Dear Sir. your most humble Ser’t
