My Dear Sir
I have been requested to ascertain / from you whether Gen’l Van Cortland [^ will sell] the water fall / near the Quaker bridge with 50 or 75 or 100 acres / of land embracing both sides of the stream above / and below that water fall and if so upon / what terms. The object of the Gen’t who wishes to purchase / is to creat a small but respectable manufacturing / establishment Let me hear from you so soon / as possible
