My dear Papa
our eliction like that of NYork / has terminated against us, Still I think from / what information I can collect that all is / not yet lost; the middle district will / beyond a doubt carry our federal Senators, and / our Majority in the upper house will be so large / as to unballance theirs below_ Henry M. Living- / =ston will be our member to Congrefs for the / Eastern district, occasioned by an affidavit of / Mr Spenser that Bird would not serve if elected _ / he is federal, if a Livingston can be so__
I have not sold the lot in the Bowery / would send you the deed if there was an / opportunity. if you will inform Mr. Abeel / that he can have it I will forward it to / Washington Morton by the next Sloop_
I hope you will not disappoint our hopes / of seeing you and Mama at Rhinbeck, it is a visit / we have long wished for and desired with all our / hearts_ Sally & the Children are well & unite in / Love_ The Mail waits_ adieu Your afft Child &c /
