Croton June 19th 1834 Dear Papa I received your letter of the 14th / yesterday but was something disapointed as I had / hoped to have seen you instead of a letter, the / time appears very long since you left us and I / begin to feel quite low spirited and tired of / housekeeping, but I hope thought now you will / soon be home and that Aunt will return with / you, we should be very lonesome here if it was / not for Mrs Sprague who is still with us my / two last letters before this I directed to Albany as / I did not then know you intended going to Niagara / I think you must of had a delightful jaunt / I should of liked very much to have been with / you . What is the reason Catharine dose not write / to us we have not received a single letter from / [END OF PAGE 1] Her since she left home. ___ We have a new / steamboat to Sing-Sing the Champion she is larger and / much faster boat than the Union. The Union is going / to run to Sag Harbour. Mr [Prince’s?] schools are going / on an excursion to West Point on Saturday with the / Champion [page folded - illegible “we are ??..] to accompany them / I do not think of any news to inform you of at / present Elizaebth Cruger is married to Mr Mills but / I believe I mentioned that in a letter to Mama, Pierre’s / arm has got quite well again so that he goes to / school the rest of the family are all very well and / Join me in love to you all Your ever affectionate Daughter Joanna
