Saturday Morning
I have this instant received My beloved Ann your note. I cannot tell you how kind I think you in writing again when you had reason to suspect I had neglected your first. Enclosed is a letter I wrote immediately after its receipt, I sent it to your house yes[terday] it returned, a little soiled by [torn page] bearer’s fingers, with word that Miss Hoffman was out of Town./
Nothing can be uninteresting to me which concerns you. Nothing more gratifying to your affectionate Augusta than a assurance of your friendship.
Miss Ann Hoffman
