Description

A drawing of a depiction of an encounter of a man seated in robes on a throne; he has a beard and is older. A man approaches him carrying a twig of laurel in one hand and a staff in another. He carries a knife at his waist and sandals on his feet. A boy next to him also carries a spear and is robed and is pointing his way to the old man. A man behind them bleeds the neck of a goat into a bowl. Another man places an animal on a burning altar. Behind the seated man two men confer while another kneels and offers a platter of something. Another man carries an urn and another looks on. A tripod has cloven hoofed feet and a table. There are trees about and a border of cartouches lines the bottom of the drawing. The drawing is of black pen and ink on beige paper.
