Pencil sketch of three female figures on a grassy slope surrounded by trees and bushes: in the background a male and female stand together looking out over the Hudson to the opposite shore; the background also contains a bench situated under a tree; bears the inscription at the bottom -- "Sunnyside Sep. 18, 1855. Up the river from the lawn"; framed in a green mat. N. B. Appears, modified, as "RIVER VISTAS, FROM THE LAWN--UP" on p. 6 of the Harper's Magazine article (see SS.75.18).
