Remarks: Treatment Report:
Vacuumed surfaces and washed with aqueous mild detergent solution followed by a thorough rinse with water. Injected cracks, loose handles and other loose elements with Acryloid B-72 in acetone to improve stability. After sealing broken surfaces with a reversible synthetic resin to expedite reversibility, joined broken pieces with West System Epoxy resin. The missing lip section was found and secured with West System Epoxy resin. The missing foot section was sculpted in placed using Edison Coating Restoration mortar. The missing cherub handle was never found so a mold was made of one cherub and a reproduction made. Two other cherubs were very loose and attached with corroded steel pins. These were removed and attached along with the new one with stainless steel pins and restoration mortar. Toned fills with Liquitex colors to blend with original body.
