Hall rack with looking glass surrounded by six hooks, "netted basket" and marble top: looking glass topped by arched pediment, top of looking glass follows arch; rounded tabs with shell carving extend above molded pediment and visually are of a piece with uprights; white and lightly grained marble top supported by body; short, wide drawer contained in top section, this section (with molded top) supported by two straight uprights in back and two columns in front; base section at bottom holds drawer with two knobs; rests on bracket feet; ornament as follows: Incised lines follow outline of stiles and lower pediment; concave boss at top or arch; six J-shaped hooks are screwed into uprights; netted green jute section supported by open-work brass brackets on either side and two brass rods at top and bottom; top drawer has molded decoration around edge and handhold cut out of bottom; concave boss on either side of front of base piece; column has fluted capital and plain base; lower drawer also has molded edges; incised rectangle on either side of lower base section front; slight drop in center at very bottom; drawers have mahogany sides, back and bottom (cut relatively thin); neat dovetails; bottom drawer rests on two tab-shaped slides; bottom and back of hall rack of conifer; upper back consists of four fielded panels; fFrame has flame shaped cuts to accommodate screws; stamped on top edge of front drawer "GILLOW & Co./7526".
