General NoteNote
This object was discovered at the Rockefeller Archive Center following a research request by Andra Russek of Schenbaum & Russek, the representatives of the estate of Beaumont Newhall. Ms. Russek was seeking reproduction rights for an image (#9, now cataloged as component j.) from this portfolio for the University of New Mexico for a forthcoming essay on Newhall. She had found the image (and the related caption with reference to the SHR) in Newhall's memoir. It was decided by Librarian Catalina Hannan and myself that this object is not logically part of the library and should be catalogued as a part of the curatorial collection. It was given an SS number as it relates to Sunnyside (and architecure of the 1840s) although Sunnyside is not included in the portfolio. Note that the trim detail in the image now cataloged as (l.) closely resembles the trim on the piazza at Sunnyside [Jessa J. Krick, 5/20/2014].Note Type
