Note

The dense and colorful pattern is characteristic of a group of nineteenth-century export porcelains, which, because of their customary pale sea green ground, is sometimes referred to as celadon. The white ground of 52 is rare. The type of decoration is early nineteenth century to about 1850, exclusively for export, largely to the Americans, who were the only Westerners actively engaged in a porcelain trade with China at the time.
