Description

Black and white framed photographic portrait bust of John Ross Delafield in military uniform. Frame and backing appear to be hand crafted. The frame is made of a brown paper printed with floral motifs of green, red, and blue. One can easily see how the paper had been folded over the underlying material as cut marks are observed inside the frame from behind. The backing is made of a stiff board with Faux Lizard paper mounted onto it. There is a metal latch to hold the back door in place and the base of the stand has been severed. Inside was found a card with the months of May/June 1917 on either side. The days of the week are listed vertically on the left side of the card and the numbers that correspond. The card is colored black and red and is meant to be read vertically from top to bottom/ left to right. Underneath was found another piece of Faux Lizard paper.
