Note

During the war of 1812, two privateers, "Teazer" and "Buckskin" both captured numerous British ships, with the Teazer (out of New York) capturing more. The Buckskin (out of Salem, MA) captured ships to or from Canadian colonies before being captured August 8, 1812. The motif on this jug appears to refer to the Teazer's unblemished track record.
