Description

a. Frame: Flat gold border 1/4" wide frames the painting and meets a 1/4" gadroon pattern; a lip follows and then a smooth concave roll of about 2" wide follows. After that a dentil molding is used and then a smooth concave ridge about 1/4" wide. Now a floral and leafy vignette design of about 1/2" wide appears. Behind this a pyramidal geometric pattern exists. b. Painting: Painting consists of an arched bridge from right to center and a house on the left. The colors are muted pastels. The house is yellow with tangarine borders; the water and reflections are shown in an impressionist style. There is a brown fence atop the double arched grey bridge. The trees are shown in an impressionist style with impasto. The bridge leads the eye to the house.
