A black and white engraving of the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth on December 11, 1620. They are unloading on the shore and gathering about an open fire with a suspended black kettle boiling. A man looks over his shoulder and raises his arm as if to say "come on." A Pilgrim in the foreground chops firewood, while a stealthy Native American, at the far right, watches the newcomers. The trees are dead or bare and a little snow can be noticed on the ground and branches.
