[PAGE 1] Dear Sister Nicholas-/ I have but one moment/ to pen a line- saying/ I hope tho’ so long in coming/ the needle ease will not/ be unacceptable, and that/ it will see the kind offer/ of reminding you of your/ friend M.T.J.- I enclose/ also the engravings of/ our dear Miss- friends./ If you have not got them/ I am sure you will be pleased to receive them/ now- as the likeness is/ perfect, our friends are all/ in unusual health- as to myself/ I am trying to be lady by/ bonding- and being waited upon.
