Barton, October 29, 1849; written from Newburgh; box arrived during visit to Westchester, apologises for not replying earlier, received specimens and recognizes them as cornus circinata, cornus paniculata, viburnum acerifolium, spirea, celastrus scnadens, common solanum dulcamara; seal intact.
