My dear Sarah
I received yours of 25th ins’t with / the power fo Att’y for Doct’t Blake, this morning, / just as I was about writing to you to say that / I had come to the conclusion that no letters / of administration are necessary in your case.
I had been turning the matter in my mind / and referring to the bill as passed, but a / little while before your letter came to hand, / when it struck me that the directions / given by the Clerk of the House of Repr’s to Col. / Morgan were the correct ones _ the bill / states that it was “for the relief of the widow of / W. Irving dec’d” not his relief _ it is a / personal affair of your own, and therefore / no letters of Ad’m are be necessary. I send / to power to Edgar by this mail, requesting / him to transmit it immediately to Doc’t B. / agan asking his kind services in the / matter, suggesting that the money when received / may be remitted to him (Edgar) when it shall / be forwarded to you without delay.
You can write a letter of thanks /

To Col. Morgan if you wish to do so, but / I do not think it necessary as I have / written to him especially on the subject, / making our acknowledgments for his / kindness and attention _ your sisters in / their letters to Charlotte, will beg her [to ??-pect] / them on your and our behalf. The Colonel’s / address is “Hon. Edwin B. Morgan, Aurora, / Cayuga County, New York.”
You spoke of coming on to New York / some time in Apl. which is close at hand / when the “boarding” project can be fairly / discussed _ Your sisters + Pierre I believe / think that Washington offers a better / chance for starting in that business, especially / for one with limited means _ your sisters / of the cottage incline to the same opinion, / as does Sanders Julia in her late letters _
Sanders and Julia you know have had / some experience of the kind in that / place. Julia thinks your prospects would /

Be better there as she says that you / have many friends in that City _ / but as I have just said, the matter / can all be talked over. I write in haste / for your sisters are reminding me that it / is late, and high bed time _ so with / my kind regards to mother and all
I am thine my dear Sarah
Affectionately
