[First Page] “Youngs” Hotel / Boston Mass Jan 16 / 94 My Dear
Willie, I would have
/ answered your letter/ before saying when / I would see you but / the recent
illness of / Mrs. Jefferson has made / [Inside Right Page] [unrecovered]
of our / movements. I had / hoped to be in N.Y. / on Tuesday morning, / but my wife is still / confined to her bed /
which keeps me / here. Of course I
am / quite agreeable that / you should [want]
/ [Inside Left Page] anything
that you may desire / of her or mine- The one question / in my mind is whether or
no the / name of “Jefferson” is not something / of a “chestnut” with the
public. / We will go into this matter / when we meet. I think I
can safely say [Last Page] that I will
be at the 5th Ave Hotel / next Monday. Say between 5 & 6 /p.m.
If on the contrary I will let / you know. I shall go south shortly after my
return to N York as I am / anxious for rest . With love ever
