Dear Sir
I have been endeavoring since the / receipt of your favor of 1st Inst. to make / arrangements to pay the draft rather / than renew the request. I have, however, / been disappointed, + must again beg the / favor of a renewal for 60 days. There / shall be [^ no] risque whatever in the businefs - / In the first place, I am not going to stop / payment, I hope, and in the next if / I did, I should not allow Mr Irving / to lose by me in his present reduced / circumstances. If this afsurance don’t satisfy / you, I will give Mr [Firman’s] endorse = /

=ment. I stage in my last that Mr Irving / would not blame you for the accommodation - / so far from it indeed, that I was sure he would / regret my having been put to any inconvenience
Yrs very respectfully
M Thomas
P.S. owing to the failure of a friend I was un= / =fortunate on business but not an individual / among my endorsers lost a dollar be me . / This [??] would be a note endorsed by you _ / for my accommodation. Pray let me hear / from you by return of mail.
