Saratoga, July 31t 1852
My dear Kate
My present idea is that I shall leave Saratoga on Monday next so as to be home in the train which arrives at Dearman about 8 OClock in the evening. Have a waggon therefore at the station at that hour.
Judge Ulshoeffer arrived here last evening with Nancy; who found the air at Sharon Springs too keen for her She looks very and emaciated The rest of the party will come here as soon as the Judge can secure rooms

for them at the United States Hotel.
I presume you have heard that Theodore has been elected or appointed Professor at Union College, Schenectady. I think it probable his arrangement with Mr Abbot will be preferred by him to the appointment; though under other circumstances it would be a very desirable one
I write in haste as the dinner bell is ringing
Your affectionate Uncle
