My dear Miss Andrews
It really grieves me that I / must deny myself the pleasure of being / present at your wedding, to which you so / kindly invite me. Such certainly was my / intention should i be invited, but unfortunately / I am just now getting the second volume of / my Life of Washington through the press, / and altering and correcting my manu - / -script, with the [pr–lers?] at my heels, so that / I am tasked to the utmost and have not / moment to spare. I assure you I am / heartily concerned to have to make this excuse; / but feel [persuaded?] you will receive it with / indulgence.
Wishing you all possible happiness in /
[END OF PAGE 1]
Your approaching change of can condition / and that the man of your choice may / prove worthy of you; and begging you / to present my felicitations and regards / to your parents and sisters, I remain / my dear Miss Louisa
Your truly affectionate friend
Washington Irving
Miss Louisa Andrews
