Sir;
The sale of the Sketch Book has been / effected by bad management in the shipment _ / A copy of No. 2 was in our Atheneum ten days be= / fore we received them _ and two or three other co= / pies were received by gentlemen which were / freely bent. Our first supply of No. 2 did not / come to hand until the 13th of August _ and / the second was not received until the 25th _ /
We request that the third number be / shipped as soon as pofsible _ that the whole No. / we take be sent at the same time _ and that / care be taken to put them on board a / packet that belongs to Providence _ the last / was sent on board a Newport packet.
We wish you to send imme - / diately - an additional supply of 50 / No 1 + 2 _ We have not a copy of No. 1 left - / so you perceive it is important to send them / immediately
Respectfully yours Wells + Lilly
