My dear Brother
Agreeably to your wish we have extended your credit with / Mefs’r [J.J. Bosc + Co. one thousand Dollars. So that we would wish you not to / hurry yourself in your journey. And should this reach you in time we would / advise you when at Naples to visit Sicily. We certainly would wish / you to visit England, and hope the above sum will accomplish all.
I have written you very particularly by this opportunity and of this / date, which letter I have directed Mefs’r Bosc not to forward but by a / safe conveyance, and the object of this letter is merely to take any [??] / of informing you of the extending of your credits, so that you may govern / yourself accordingly in your route. This Mefsr’s Bosc could have done / as well as I . but commercial men are so taken up with their own con= / =cerns that they are apt to forget these trifling, but sometimes important matters / in their consequences, belonging to others.
We are all well and for particulars I must refer you to my / letter [No. 6] of this date consideraly long
I am
My Dear Brother
Your affectionately
Wm. Irving Jun’r
