Many thanks for your / kind letter and the still kinder / invitation to visit you this summer / I have given up all idea of / accompanying Mr. Douglas so / that I shall have to postpone / any visit to some future time / when I hope to have the pleasure / of seeing you and making the / acquaintance of Annie whom / I am quite anxious to know / Mr. Douglas has just left me / and I feel quite happy that / he is on such good health and / [END OF PAGE 1] [PAGE 2] Spirits _ he returns to me on Saturday / to spend a few days and then / leaves me for a long absence. / The Lake View is quite deserted / I am sole occupant of this vast / Mansion and I wish for you / often that we might pass some / quiet cozy mornings together once / more.
