Charles told me on Friday / that you were in N York but / I was constantly engaged in / Courts until late on Saturday / Night _ Yesterday I thought / I would certainly see you, / But I was so much india - / posed that I could not / leave the [town] _ to day I / am better, but again busy / in Court _ and this afternoon / its possible I start for Goshen. / If I do not go, I will come / + see you this Evening and / if I do I will return in / a few days _ I am sorry, my / dear Emma, thus to postpone / my welcome; and am also / sorry that my wife is not /
