Remarks: Frame: lower left corner separated; notable losses of gilt, especially lower left; bottom frame center and lower right; frame gilding touched up prior to Winter Antiques Show by HHV's Alistair McLean (frame used for display of portrait of Mary Philipse in the show).

Remarks: Painting noted to have slight edge rub on both bottom right side and top left side during inspection after loan; very likely this is old damage; portrait probably needs liner or spacer to prevent contact with frame

Remarks: Painting: There is overall crazing but no loss of paint. Some wear on paint from frame on viewer's left lower corner and the lower center. Frame: CAUTION WHEN MOVING FRAME. The highly carved frame does not have a flat surface to rest on. There is separation on the lower left corner and gesso showing in places; some losses are down to the wood.
