Notes
Remarks: Canvas uniformly cracked overall; frame: gray "rubbed" area on molding at top left on horizontal side and at top right on vertical side.Notes
Remarks: Felicity Campbell examined the canvas for possible inclusion in the 2012 Winter Antiques Show Loan Exhibition: some light staining and yellowing in the area of the sky; can't really tell if this staining is under the varnish until is it removed, and it will be a more significant investment of time and money already to remove the varnish; there is a matte spot at the lower right; can be displayed as-is very well; conservation money will not really make a huge difference here; Marylou Davis examined the frame: this is not a very old frame, maybe early-mid 20th century; frame should be "scumbled" across top edge (gold powders used to lessen light scraping to that edge), this can be done on-site at HHV prior to display [Jessa J. Krick, 9/8/2011].Relationships
