Notes
Remarks: In late Februrary 2015, object was noted to have some serious issues with gilt gesso separting from the wooden backing in the cornice of the frame, particularly on the upper right (PL) side; plaster had separated from the wood and was very loose, with many smaller losses and chips. Mirror was brought to storage at Union Church where conservator Kerith Koss Schrager worked to stabilize the cornice and infill various losses, particularly a large section of the PL cornice near the split and and in the same spot on the PR side. She also replaced the backing with a partial mylar backing in order to better monitor the mercury of the mirror and note leaks. See complete report in object file for details and numerous before-after photographes. Piece is back to excellent condition and will be returned to MP on 6/26/2015.Notes
