Description

White damask linen napkin with "W" monogram, handstitched hems and hand-embroidered monogram. Main design is oval polka dot damask; wide border (4 1/2") is variation on same; alternating thick and thin stripes interspersed with lines echoing polka dot pattern, centered around one wide stripe with a ladder-like motif of repeating horizontal rounded bars flanked by oval polka dots. Where corners and border lines meet, a small checked square appears. White monogram is very fine, almost looks machine-stitched. "W" is in fancy script. Hem is rolled and handstitched with an overcast stitch.
