White ivory and gold(?) needle case, hand carved. Outside of item is handcarved ivory. At joint between case and top, unidentified metal rims the edges; case has tall vertical neck (in metal) to keep needles straight. Shape of object is elongated cylinder with a tapered end. Carved ivory is in design of foliates and crisscross lines in different directions (horizontal/vertical) around circumference of object.
