Description

A late 19th century banquet lamp(?) decorated with Classical floral ornamentations and with glass chimney and shade. The lamp consists of: a double burner with two wick wheels, each marked; an oblique grid-like air intake; a cylindrical font with arc and ray motif (Sunburst) on the top and tapers to the stem. The stem consists of turned elements; a baluster shaped turning and a reel, then becomes columnar in form with floral bands at its top and bottom. The column rests on a cylindrical plinth with four stylized leaf-like motifs with exploding berries. The base is squared with concave sides and in each corner is a rosette. The base rests on four bun-shaped feet located under each corner. The chimney is cylindrical and globular in shape and rests about the burners on the collar. A glass oval shade, whose surface is etched all over, encircles the chimney. Item "A":Collar, Font, and Stem. Item "B":Shade. Item "C":Chimney.
