Red and white striped ribbon which comes to a point at both ends and attached to those ends are thin pieces of white ribbon, each with a thin red stripe down the center. Attached by an oval-shaped loop, around the ribbon's center is a medal. The upper portion of the medal is an horizontal oval made of a green leaf and red berry motif. Attached to that by a small loop is star which radiates out to eight points. On top of the star, on the front, is a red Greek cross with four smaller 5-pointed stars around it. On top of the cross is a white enameled circle with a light blue enameled center. In gilt, around the white circle are the words "ORDEN DE HONOR Y MERITO" (order of honor and merit) with a gilt leaf motif at the bottom. Within the light blue circle is the date "1909" which is overlapping. On the back side, everything is the same except for around the white circle is "INTER INIMIGOS CHARITAS" and within the circle there are four separate motifs. The lower left is a diagonal royal blue and white stripe; the lower left is a palm tree against a mountainous background. The top portion consists of two horizontal stripes. The mid-section is a gilt key against a blue background; the top section is a rising orange sun with yellow sunbeams radiating outward from it.
B) With this is a small piece of paper with the typewritten words "The Italian Government".Made/Created
